Outside the royal palace, though they don't allow pictures inside. Nicer than Versailles, if a smaller tour area.

Local market: Madrid is the "Best port in Spain" or so they say, because they import all sorts of seafood.

Where we ate lunch: Gallacian style octopus and garlic prawns, two specialties of the cuisine.

The Plaza Mayor.

"Museo de Jamon"-- the museum of ham, a small restaurant. The people of Madrid take ham very seriously.
